Should my female dog have a litter before she is spayed?

It is not necessary to allow a dog to have a litter before having it spayed. Too many unwanted pups are born, ending up in abusive situations. A female dog can be spayed as early as eight weeks of age. The procedure is healthy for the pets while eliminating nervous pacing and constant crying of a female in heat. It also rids the messiness of a dog in the heat cycle. Spaying a female prior to its first cycle reduces the risk of breast cancer while totally preventing uterine cancer and infections.
